Description
Farmbuildings located to the south of Highfield Farmhouse date from the mid 18th century and have undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. They are constructed of coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings and feature plain tile roofs, including some areas with glass tiles. The buildings have an irregular plan and rise to two storeys.
On the north elevation, which faces the yard, there are three doors with plain surrounds, with a fixed paned window situated between the eastern two doors. To the east, there are two additional windows, one dating from the 20th century and the other fitted with louvred vents. Above, there is a hayloft door on the west side and a fixed paned window on the east side.
To the east, there is an attached range of stables that includes a plain door and a window above, both facing west. At the western end, there is another range of outbuildings attached to the rear of the main building, which features a series of stone troughs positioned against the base of the wall.
