Description

This is an early 19th-century milepost located 20 metres south-east of the former Rising Sun Public House in the parish of Crich. It features a diamond section cast iron design mounted on a short circular shaft. The north-west face of the milepost indicates a distance of 18 miles to Nottingham and 4 miles to Ripley, while the south-west face shows a distance of 5 miles to Cromford.
