Description

No. 8 Chapel Lane is a house dated 1799, constructed from coursed rubble stone with quoins and a Collyweston slate mansard roof, featuring stone and buff brick end stacks. The gable faces the street, with the front positioned to the right. The building has 2½ storeys, featuring two 2-light windows that have been renewed in the 20th century, along with two 2-light dormers. There is a central 20th-century part-glazed door and a single-storey extension on the right end. A stone tablet inscribed 'J.T. 1799' is located in the gable facing the street. This house was formerly known as Smithy House and is included for its group value.
