Description

Amberleigh House is an 18th-century house located on Chapel Lane in Barrowden. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone, featuring quoins and stone dressings, and has a Collyweston slate roof with moulded stone end stacks. The building is 2½ storeys tall with a basement and has three casement windows: a central 3-light window that opens in the middle, flanked by a 2-light window and another 3-light window. Wooden lintels support these windows. Above, there are two hipped dormers with 2-light windows, and in the basement, there is a 2-light stone mullion window and a 1-light window. On the right end, there is a single-storey lean-to extension that features a 2-light window at the front and a door on the side. At the rear, there is a two-storey 19th-century wing with a moulded stone side stack.
