Description

Teal Cottage and Sheffield Cottage are two cottages from the 18th century located on Rookery Road in Stretton. They are constructed from coursed rubble stone with quoins and feature a Collyweston slate roof, which has stone end stacks, one of which is partly brick. The cottages are two storeys high and have a total of four casement windows arranged as two-light, one-light, two-light, and two-light, above two one-light casements, all with stone lintels and keystones. The doors are located at the rear, with the entrance to Teal Cottage on the right side in a 20th-century two-storey extension. There is also a one-storey lean-to extension on the right end, which has a two-light window facing right. Inside, there are beams, and Sheffield Cottage retains iron doors that were once used for bake ovens. A tie beam is visible on the first floor. The cottages were formerly the village bakery.
