Description
No. 15 Main Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of coursed ironstone rubble with limestone quoins and features a steeply pitched slate roof with brick chimneys at the gables and center. The house has two storeys and four bays. The left bays have five-pane sash windows on the ground floor, while the upper floor has old three-light casements, with the lower wooden casement featuring a central shutter and the upper having leaded outer lights. The right bay contains a 20th-century three-light metal casement on the ground floor. All ground floor openings are topped with wooden lintels. At the rear, there are three bays of two-light wooden casements and double flush panelled doors in the second bay. A lean-to porch with a shaped wooden frieze is also present. There is a range of 19th-century outbuildings attached at an angle to the right bay, which are not of special interest. Inside, the house features an old winder stair.
