Description
No. 21 High Street is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is built of coursed squared ironstone and coursed rubble, topped with an asbestos tile roof and featuring brick and stone stacks. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a total of four bays. The entrance is located in the third bay from the right, featuring a wood lintel, a four-panel door that is partly glazed, and a gabled timber hood supported by brackets. To the right of the entrance, there are two three-light windows with wood lintels and wood casements. On the left side, there are two two-light windows with wood lintels and 20th-century metal casements, along with a similar three-light window in the left bay. The first floor has three-light windows with wood lintels, although the two left bays feature 20th-century metal casements. The gable ends are coped and have kneelers. The interior was remodeled in the 20th century, but some chamfered beams remain. The building is included for its group value.
