Description
This is a house dating from circa 1700, constructed of ironstone ashlar with a tiled roof. It has flanking brick and stone stacks and follows a lobby-entry plan. The house has a cellar and attic, and is arranged over two storeys with five bays. The left bay features a two-light stone mullioned window with a square hood. A doorway is positioned to the right of centre, featuring a stone lintel and a four-panel part-glazed door with overlight. Three-light casement windows are present on either side of the doorway, each with a wooden lintel. A blocked window with a stone lintel is located in the right bay, with a similar blocked window on the first floor. The remaining first-floor windows are also two-light, with stone lintels, wooden mullions, and transoms. The gable ends are coped and contain kneelers. A two-light stone mullioned cellar window is present on the left side of the property. At the rear, a two-light window with stone mullions and transoms can be seen on the first floor. Internally, a fireplace with a plain stone lintel is located in a ground floor room. There is an original stud partition in the hall, and similar partitions within the attic. The attic reveals the original roof structure, including tie beams and purlins. A 19th and 20th century staircase leads to the first floor, while original winder stairs provide access to the attic.
