Description

This is an early 18th-century house located on the west side of High Street, Eydon. The house is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble, with a corrugated asbestos tile roof and brick stacks. It is two storeys high and has three bays. A doorway in the second bay from the left has a wood lintel, a four-panel part-glazed door, and a flat timber hood. The window to the left of the doorway has a wood lintel and a three-light wood casement. A two-light casement window with a wood lintel is located to the right, and a similar three-light casement window is in the right bay. On the first floor, there are two-light casement windows with wood lintels in the left and centre bays, and a similar three-light window in the right bay. The right gable end is coped with kneelers. A blocked two-light stone mullioned window is visible on the first floor of the right side. Internally, a former open fireplace retains its original bressumer, and was filled in during the 19th century with a grate flanked by cupboards with panelled doors. The original roof structure is still present, with purlins exposed on the first floor.
