Description
This is a house dating from the mid-to-late 18th century, and subsequently altered. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with darker brown stone quoins, and has a Collyweston slate roof with coped gables. The chimneys, located to the gable ends and between the left bays, have red brick shafts and stone bases. The house is two storeys and an attic, with three bays. The outer bays and the first-floor window in the centre of the facade have 20th-century paired metal casements with stone lintels. Blocked doorways, originally with dressed stone surrounds, are now filled with 20th-century paired wooden casements. Two small, hipped dormers feature similar wooden casements. A 20th-century half-glazed door is centrally positioned within a 20th-century opening. An ironstone tablet, worn and without inscription, is located above the right-hand upper window. Traces of blocked windows can be seen in the upper storey to the left and right. The upper storey also shows evidence of former windows on either side. A small lean-to is attached to the rear of the property.
