Description
Alstoe House is a farmhouse that features a main facade from the early 19th century, although it likely represents the refronting of an earlier house. The building is constructed of brick, has two storeys, and is arranged in three symmetrical bays with a double-pile plan. The central entrance is set in a flat pedimented porch supported by slender wooden columns, with a small window on either side. There are eight canted bay windows flanking the entrance, and above, there are three-light sash windows. The right bay has a flat timber lintel, while the others feature cambered brick heads; this right bay is probably a later addition. The rear elevation also has a central entrance in a latticed porch and a canted bay window to its left. The left bay is made of brick, while the other two are constructed of coursed rubble, indicating an earlier build.
