Description

Moat House is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, with some earlier work at the rear. It has an L-shaped plan and is constructed of colourwashed brick with a hipped slated roof. The building is two storeys high and features a four-window range arranged as 1:1:2, with slightly inset sashes that have glazing bars and flat arches. The entrance bay is asymmetrical and set slightly forward, featuring a six-panel door with the upper four panels glazed, a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars, panelled reveals, and a reeded architrave. The entrance is complemented by an open timber porch supported by pilasters and slender columns with a bracketed cornice. There is also a semi-circular headed sash window on the first floor. At the rear, there is a timber framed and plastered wing that has been much altered, along with a mid-20th century extension.
