Description

A pair of cottages, numbers 2 and 4 Church Street, Braunston, likely dates from the early 18th century and forms part of a terrace of three buildings. Number 2 is a one-and-a-half storey, two-unit cottage. It is constructed from coursed rubble and has a thatched roof. It features a central doorway and 2-light casement windows with timber lintels, chamfered with ornate stops. A fire-window is located to the right. The gable is coped, and the building has brick stacks. Number 4 is a two-storey cottage, possibly heightened over time, originally a single-unit plan. It has a doorway on the left with a chamfered timber lintel, but the windows are replacements. Number 4 also has a brick stack. A rear wing extends from number 4.
