Description

A pair of cottages dated to the 17th century, with later 19th and 20th century additions and alterations. The cottages are timber framed with whitewashed brick infill. Number 29, on the left, has a rendered brick addition with a brick dentil cornice and mock framing. Number 31 is partially underbuilt in whitewashed brick. The roof is tiled, with brick end and internal stacks. Number 31 has a two-unit plan, while Number 29 is originally a one-unit dwelling extended to two. The cottages are one storey and attic, with dormers. Number 31 has a two-window front, and Number 29 has one window. Number 29 features a 20th-century porch with a half-glazed door, and Number 31 has a 20th-century door set under a segmental brick arch. Late 20th-century casement windows are present. The return side of Number 31 displays exposed framing. The interiors were not inspected, but are reported to contain exposed framing.
