Description
The Crofts is a pair of cottages located on Church Road in Wilmcote, dating from the 17th to early 18th century, with later additions from the late 18th to 19th century and 20th-century alterations. The cottages are timber framed with whitewashed brick infill and have been extended at each end in whitewashed brick. Number 4 features a coursed lias end wall. They have a tiled roof with brick ridge stacks and were possibly originally designed as a three-unit plan, though each is now a two-unit layout.
The cottages are two storeys tall and have a four-window range. Number 4 has a plank door, while Number 6 has a 20th-century ribbed and studded door, both with small hoods above. Each cottage features a small canted bay window and leaded-light casements, some of which are old, along with two dormers. Notably, Number 4 has a dormer situated directly above another window. The rear of the cottages shows some exposed framing. The interior has not been inspected.
