Description
Swan House Hotel is a public house that was originally built as a house in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick, with the front featuring whitewashed roughcast and painted rendered quoins. The roof is slate, with coped gables and kneelers, and there are brick stacks at the ends. The building has three storeys and a three-window range. The entrance includes a six-panelled door with an overlight that has glazing bars, framed by a reeded doorcase with uniquely shaped brackets. The ground floor features canted bar windows, while the ground and first floors have 16-pane sash windows, with a central 12-pane sash window. The windows are topped with rendered flat arches. The interior has been altered, and there are substantial late 19th century and 20th century additions to the left and rear of the building.
