Description
11 Hounds Gate is a town house that has been converted into a shop with offices above. It was built in the mid-18th century and has undergone alterations in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building features painted brick with painted ashlar dressings and an asphalt roof. It has four storeys and a three-window range of 12-pane sash windows with wedge lintels and double keystones. Above these, there are three similar windows, and above again, three 6-pane sashes. The ground floor includes an original pilastered wooden doorcase with a pediment, a panelled door, and a fanlight to the right. To the left, there are two plate glass windows, followed by a 20th-century door and a late 19th-century passage entrance.
