Description
95 and 96 Pydar Street is a town house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the 18th century. The building features local rubble walls with timber lintels that are mortared over, and it has an asbestos slate roof with gable ends. It has a single-depth plan with service wings that extend at right angles to the rear. The structure is two storeys high and has a low four-window range. The first three windows create a symmetrical front, highlighted by a slightly projecting central bay that includes a moulded triangular pediment and a central doorway flanked by pilasters and topped with a moulded entablature. The doorway consists of a six-panel door, and above it is a 16-pane horned copy sash. The remaining windows feature concrete lintels over late 19th century or 20th century tripartite horned sashes, which lack glazing bars, except for the plate-glass shop window located at the far right. The interior of the shop has been altered in the 20th century, and no further inspection has been conducted.
