Description
Number 26 is a house with attached area railings, built around 1865 and restored in the late 20th century. It features red brick construction with blue brick, terracotta, and painted ashlar dressings, topped with a slate roof that has patterned ridge tiles. The building is designed in the Gothic Revival style and includes a plinth, a patterned terracotta band at the second floor, an eaves band, and a cornice supported by brackets. It stands three storeys high plus a basement and has a three-window range. The windows are plain sashes, and to the left, there is a canted bay window that is two storeys high with four lights. The ground floor has pointed arched windows, while the upper floors feature shouldered windows, both with a central shaft and foliage capital. To the right, there is a simple doorcase with a three-panel door, above which is a shouldered window. The second floor has three pointed arched windows with hood moulds. The exterior is complemented by cast-iron area railings on a chamfered ashlar plinth.
