Description
Numbers 7 to 15 on Regent Street are a row of five terraced houses, now used as offices, along with attached area railings, steps, and gate piers. They were built between 1850 and 1854 by the architect Thomas Chambers Hine from Nottingham and were restored in the late 20th century. The houses are constructed of red brick with painted ashlar dressings and feature slate roofs with side wall stacks. The basements are painted, and there is a first-floor sill band. The row has five prominent Flemish gables topped with ball finials. The buildings rise three storeys plus a basement and attics, with a total of ten windows across the front. The windows are mainly original 12-pane sashes with bracketed sills and cornices, while the attics have single 6-pane sashes. Each house has moulded doorcases with cornices and trefoil-headed openings, although the door to No. 13 has been altered to a window. There are steps leading to each door, and the property features panelled square ashlar gate piers with ball finials and restored cast-iron railings.
