Description

This is a pair of 18th century ashlar gateways that lead to Spondon School (Upper House) and the Adult Centre. The gateways feature round-headed arches, rusticated walling, and archivolts. They have upright consoles on small attached pilasters at the sides, with vermiculated keyblocks and a cornice and pediment. The gateway on the north side retains a simple wrought iron gate. The original Field House has been demolished.
