House. 1848. For Mr Blackett, a linen yarn draper. Ashlar, hipped slate roofs. In Classical style. 2 storeys with attics and basement, 4 x 3 bays. Plinth. East entrance front: central porch with Tuscan columns and double panelled doors with overlight, blocking course, deep modillion cornice. The wide right bay breaks forward, plate-glass sashes throughout, moulded string course at 1st-floor and sill levels, modillion eaves cornice, large stacks left and right. Left return, the garden front: an irregular facade, the wide left bay has a hipped roof and is possibly a later added range, the central bay, ground floor, has a canted bay window with narrow mullions, console brackets, entablature and blocking course, paired and single lights above. To right the canted bay window has wider mullions, a single light above. INTERIOR: not inspected.
