Description

Holesfoot House is a house dating to circa 1845, with later alterations. It is constructed of ashlar stone, featuring a plinth and rusticated quoins. The roof is covered with graduated slate tiles. The symmetrical design comprises a two-storey main block flanked by single-storey wings, presenting a five-bay facade (1:3:1). A flight of steps leads to a centrally positioned panelled door, which has a traceried overlight and sits within an architrave under a Doric porch. Canted bay windows are situated either side of the central door, with three windows above. A sash window is present on the left-hand wing, while the right-hand wing contains a semicircular-headed blind recess. All windows are sash windows. An eaves cornice runs throughout the building, with a blocking course, a central dormer window, and corniced stone end chimneys to the main block. The interior is exceptionally fine, boasting high-quality woodwork, plasterwork, and fittings throughout.
