Description
Nag's Head Farmhouse and the attached byre date from the mid-18th century. The building was partly converted into an inn in the early to mid-19th century and is now a farmhouse as of 1983. It is constructed of coursed, squared rubble with quoins, and the house front to the left is pebble-dashed. The roof is covered with graduated slate and features a late 19th-century brick chimney at the south end.
The farmhouse is three stories high and has three bays. It retains original wagon and byre openings, which are now partially blocked and converted into windows with glazing bars. A central part-glazed door has been inserted between these openings. Each floor above the original wagon opening has a single sash window without glazing bars.
The outbuildings to the right include two original byre doors, with a hay-loft door above the left-hand one. There is a third door and a lean-to structure under a corrugated asbestos roof against the east wall, which is a late 18th or early 19th-century addition. A large opening on the west gable is blocked. All doors, except for the central house door, have segmental heads. The outbuildings and car-port to the west are not included in the listing.
