Description

This building consists of a barn, byre, and an attached mill located to the south of Nether Hoff Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from snecked, squared rubble with quoins and features a graduated slate roof that is hipped at both ends. The structure is two storeys high, with a large barn situated above the animal pens.

The ground floor has original openings with segmental heads, arranged as follows: one single opening, two paired openings, one single opening (which is now blocked and partly glazed), two paired openings, and one single opening (blocked when a ramp was built). The right-hand opening is wider. On the first floor, there is a small access door to the left, and a later ramp leads up to a large, segmental-headed wagon door over a narrow passage. There is also a small inserted 20th-century window to the right and three small windows with stone surrounds below the eaves.

At the southern end of the building, there was a three-storey mill, with the wheel pit and mill-race still surviving. The first and second floors have two windows each on the south wall, along with one blocked window on the ground floor to the right, all featuring plain stone surrounds. The byre range extends at right angles on the west side, and lean-to additions at both ends are not included in this description.
