Description

Probably early 19th century with later additions and alterations. Single storey, octagonal-plan former horse mill adjoining 2-storey, rectangular-plan barn to E. Predominantly tooled cream sandstone rubble; tooled dressings.

HORSE MILL: large, square-headed opening to S; barn to E. Grey slate roof INTERIOR: rubble walls; boarded timber partition to E enclosing later engine room with fixed (?) engine, workbench, tools in place. Open timber roof. Overlapping grey slates.

BARN, W (SIDE) ELEVATION: 2-leaf boarded loft door breaking eaves at centre; arched projection at ground; horse mill to outer left. S (FRONT) ELEVATION: gable end with single window centred at 1st floor. E (SIDE) ELEVATION: boarded timber door centred at ground; boarded opening aligned above; single windows flanking at ground. Later addition projecting to outer right. Part-ventilated windows to E. Grey slate roof; stone-coped skews. INTERIOR: not seen 1999.
