Description

The Armoury is an early 18th century house made of red sandstone, topped with a slate roof, and stands two storeys high. The front features a central panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above it, all set within a moulded doorcase. On the ground floor, there are two 12-paned sash windows, and three more on the upper floor, all with thick glazing bars and hollow-chamfered architraves. There is also a sliding sash window on the left gable end and another at the rear. At the back, there is a tall gabled wing that has been partly rebuilt. Attached to the right side of the house is a low stone barn, which includes a small window. The gables of the building have stone verges and kneelers.
