Description
The Hill Farmhouse is a house from the late 18th century, built of squared sandstone and topped with a steep slate roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a cellar, featuring three bays on its facade. The front is symmetrically designed with alternating rustication. The windows are sash style, complete with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. The cellar includes low windows at ground level, also with plain stone surrounds.
The entrance features seven external stone steps leading up to a doorway that has a plain stone surround and a moulded hood, supported by console brackets, each adorned with three guttae. The door itself consists of nine panels. The gables are topped with chimneys and copings that include kneelers. At the rear of the house, there is a tall stair window with two transoms. Inside, the farmhouse boasts panelled doors, a dog-leg stair with a ramped handrail and stick balusters, and fanlights above two doorways that lead into the stair hall.
