Description
Laith House is a house built in 1690, constructed from sandstone rubble and topped with a stone slate roof. It features an end baffle-entry plan and stands two storeys high with three bays. There is a drip course above the ground-floor windows. The windows are rebated and chamfered with mullions, consisting of three lights, except for the first-floor windows in the first and second bays, which have two lights. The door, located in the left-hand bay, has a chamfered surround and a shaped lintel inscribed with 'CAS 1690'. A chimney is positioned to the left of the door. To the left of the house is a former barn that is now part of the house, featuring a wide entrance with a timber lintel, which now includes a recessed glazed door and window. There is also a former shippon door to the left of the wide entrance, which is now blocked and has a window. Another chimney is located to the left of the wide entrance. Inside, there is a plain stone fireplace from the 19th century and exposed modern ceiling joists.
