Description
The boundary walls to numbers 1, 3, and 5 on Grosvenor Mount in Headingley date from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of coursed squared gritstone and feature monolithic gate piers. These walls enclose the gardens to the south of numbers 1 to 5 on the west, south, and east sides, stretching approximately 80 meters in length and standing about 1.5 meters high. The gateway for number 1 is located on the west wall, while the gates for numbers 3 and 5 are situated on the south wall. The gate piers are topped with shallow pyramidal capstones, and the single-leaf gates are adorned with scrolled spearhead finials. The terrace and gardens were established after 1850, as indicated by Ordnance Survey maps. The walls are included for their group value.
