Description
No. 31 Commercial Street is a house that has been converted into shop premises. It dates from the early 19th century but has been altered in the 20th century. The building is rendered, and the roof is not visible. It has four storeys and features two windows on the first floor. The ground floor has a late 20th-century shop window. The upper floors have narrow plate-glass sash windows set in architraves, which are reduced in height on each floor. The first floor has a pulvinated frieze and cornice, while the second floor has eared windows with a continuous sill, and the third floor also has a continuous sill. At the corners, giant Doric pilasters rise to a deep entablature, which includes a cornice and blocking course. The interior has not been inspected.
