Description
This listing describes a pair of attached houses located at 1 Norfolk Gardens, Chapel Allerton, dating from the early 19th century but altered in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of coursed squared gritstone and feature a slate hipped roof. They are two storeys tall, with each house having three first-floor windows and a central entrance that includes a glazed and panelled door topped by a semicircular overlight with converging glazing bars, all set under a stone arch.
In terms of windows, No. 1 Norfolk Gardens, which is on the right, has a wedge lintel on the right side, a 20th-century bay window on the left side of the ground floor, and 20th-century top-hinged casements with stone sills above. No. 58 Woodland Lane, on the left, features plate-glass windows in moulded stone surrounds, 9-pane sashes, and stone sills above. The houses also have an eaves band and banded ashlar stacks located at the ridge, in the center, and at each end. The interior has not been inspected.
