Description
Hawthorn House is a large house built in the early 19th century and altered in the late 19th century. The building is rendered and has a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and a basement, featuring three unequal bays with one, five, and one windows. The central bay projects and has a blocked entrance that has been converted into a window, framed by a shouldered moulded architrave. The sash windows do not have glazing bars and are set within moulded architraves, with a sill band on the first floor. The house has a moulded eaves cornice, a blocking course, gable copings, and end stacks. The right bay may have been added later. At the rear, which faces Regent Street, there is a central entrance with an architrave and cornice set in a round-arched recess, along with sash windows that have glazing bars, while the outer bays are set back. The interior has not been inspected.
