Description
The front wall and gate piers of Farnley Hill Methodist Church date from the early 19th century. The wall is made of coursed squared gritstone and features ashlar piers. Built on a steep slope, the wall stretches approximately 15 meters across the front of the church and has plain copings, although the railings have been replaced. The end and gate piers are square in section, standing about 2 meters high, and include a plinth, chamfered shafts, a cornice, and shallow pyramidal capstones. This structure is included for its group value.
