Description
The stables immediately north of Farnley Hall are now used as stores. They likely date from the 17th century but were rebuilt in 1806. The building is constructed of hand-made red brick in a random bond, with pebble-dashing on the south side and a stone slate roof featuring stone dressings and quoins. It has two storeys and includes two- and three-light stone mullion windows with leaded panes. The ground floor has a row of garage doors, and to the right, there is a 19th-century door with a fanlight and an 18th-century wide six-panel door with a window to the side, all set within a stone surround. The gable copings and turned-in kneelers add to the architectural detail. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value with Farnley Hall.
