Description
Lawns House is a large building that was originally constructed in the early 19th century. It has since been used as a school and is now offices. The house is made of ashlar stone and features a slate roof, cornice, and blocking course. It stands two storeys high and has five windows, with a three-bay pediment. The projecting center of the house includes a portico supported by two Ionic columns and two pilasters, along with a continuous sill band. On the right side, there is a porch featuring a re-set pediment with an inscription that reads 'P/ WA 1764', and to the left, there is a round-arched stair window. At the rear, facing Lawns Lane, there is a two-storey service wing with nine windows, a hipped roof, a moulded eaves cornice on the right, and ashlar stacks. The building was undergoing thorough re-ordering at the time of the survey. The interior was not inspected.
