Description
The gatepiers and garden wall at Oglethorpe Old Hall Farmhouse date from the 18th century and are located on the north side of the farmhouse. They are constructed from magnesian limestone, with the gatepiers made of ashlar and the wall built from coursed squared masonry. The gatepiers are square in shape, approximately 3 metres high, featuring chamfered plinths, prominent moulded caps, and large ball finials that sit on moulded pyramidal pedestals. Each pier has a scrolled console on its inner side. The wall, which is approximately 2 metres high, is attached to each gatepier and has rounded coping.
