Description
Cad Beeston is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built in the early 19th century and underwent alterations after 1985. The exterior is made of stretcher bond brick, which has been rendered and incised to imitate ashlar during the 1985 renovations. The building features stone sills and lintels, and has a slate hipped roof with two brick chimneys.
The main facade faces southeast and consists of two storeys with three bays. The entrance is located in a central, square projecting porch that has a plain corniced roof. The side elevations have square windows that are blocked and rendered. The entrance features a six-panel door set in a recess, topped by a semicircular fanlight with keystones and triple wooden roll-moulding. The first and third bays have 32-pane sash windows, while the centre bay on the first floor has a 12-pane sash window, all with modern frames.
On the right side of the building, there is a one-bay elevation with a 32-pane sash window on the ground floor and a 16-pane sash window above it. Inside, the main entrance has fluted jambs, and the staircase features bobbin balusters. The building is attached to the remains of the medieval manor house of Cad Beeston, now known as The Manor House, with access to the upper storey of the earlier range currently available through the rear wall of this building.
