Description
1 and 1A Colville Terrace is a caretaker's house for the Board School, built in 1880, likely by R.L. Adams. The building is constructed of red brick with stone details and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall with a square two-bay plan. The south side features a doorway with an overlight, flanked by sash windows on both the ground and first floors, all set in moulded brick recesses with keyed segmental heads and moulded brick sills that continue as a sill band. The building has a moulded eaves cornice and a pyramid roof topped with a finial. On the right side facing the road, there are paired sash windows on both floors, and a ramped brick panel is located at the base of the eaves stack, which is decorated with strapwork and moulded details. The interior has not been inspected. This property is included for its group value.
