Description

The boundary wall with gate piers at St Matthew's Community Centre was likely built between 1829 and 1832 by architect R.D. Chantrell. Constructed from ashlar and coursed squared stone, the low wall features chamfered coping and originally had railings that are now missing. It encloses the west and south sides of the graveyard, extending approximately 200 meters in length. The gateway located opposite the west door of the church includes piers that have a chamfered plinth and monolithic shafts topped with gabled capstones. This structure is included for its group value.
