Description

This milestone, located approximately 50 meters west of the junction with Harrogate Road, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It features an arched stone structure that is overlaid with cast iron, with letters presented in relief. The top of the milestone reads "TADCASTER & OTLEY ROAD HAREWOOD." The left face indicates "HAREWOOD 1 MILE," while the right face lists distances to various locations: "OTLEY 7¼ MILES," "WETHERBY 7¼ MILES," "BOSTON 8 MILES," and "TADCASTER 12 MILES."
