Description

This milestone, located approximately 50 meters east of the junction with Lumby Lane, dates from the mid-19th century. It features an arched stone structure that is overlaid with cast iron and has a triangular cross-section, with the letters presented in relief. The top of the milestone reads "TADCASTER & OTLEY ROAD EAST KESWICK." The left face indicates "HAREWOOD WETHERBY," while the right face shows distances: "2 MILES 4¼ MILES OTLEY BOSTON 10¼ MILES 5 MILES," with the word "TADCASTER" partly buried.
