Description

This milestone, located approximately 375 metres west of the junction with Weardley Lane, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It features an arched stone structure overlaid with a cast-iron section that is triangular in shape. The letters on the milestone are in relief. The top of the milestone reads "TADCASTER & OTLEY ROAD WEARDLY." The left face indicates "OTLEY HAREWOOD," while the right face shows distances: "6¼ MILES 2 MILES WETHERBY 8¼ MILES BOSTON 9 MILES TADCASTER 13 MILES."
