Description
High Lodge is a lodge located at the west entrance of Harewood House, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building is single storey and consists of five bays, with a rear outshut. The facade is symmetrical, with a plinth. The central three bays have a simple Tuscan porch, while the outer bays are flush with the porch. Each side of the porch features a doorway with monolithic jambs and a chamfered surround. All bays contain segmental-arched windows with voussoirs and projecting sills, fitted with segmental-arched small-pane Yorkshire sashes. The building has a bracketed cornice and a hipped roof with two ashlar ridge stacks. At the rear, the outshut includes two doorways and three small windows, all set between a lean-to roof. The main roof has a plain cyma-moulded eaves cornice, and the left and right returns feature segmental-arched windows similar to those at the front.
