Description
This milestone, located opposite the entrance to New Laithe Farm, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It features a single-arched stone structure that is overlaid with a cast-iron triangular section. The letters on the milestone are in relief. The top of the milestone reads "TADCASTER & OTLEY ROAD HAREWOOD." The left face indicates "WETHERBY HAREWOOD," while the right face shows distances: "5¼ MILES 1 MILE BOSTON OTLEY 6 MILES 9¼ MILES" and "TADCASTER 10 MILES."
