Description

Milestone located at the base of a viaduct, dating from the late 19th century. It features a triangular cast iron front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The inscription reads: "BARNSLEY & SHEPLEY LANE HEAD ROAD DENBY HOLMFIRTH CAWTHORNE 6 MILES 4 MILES BARNSLEY 8 MILES."
