Description

This is a former farmhouse, now used as storage, dating to the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with quoins, and has a stone slate roof with gable copings and moulded kneelers. There are ashlar stacks with cornices. The building comprises a two-storey main range, a two-storey wing to the right, and a single-storey wing set back to the left. Windows are double-chamfered. The single-storey wing features an arched and moulded entrance, alongside a two-light window with a hood mould that has whorled stops; a four-light window is adjacent. The main range has a gabled front with a chamfered entrance and a four-light window to the side of the entrance, the former featuring a hood mould. A fire window is located to the right. The right side of the main range has windows of 2, 3, 4, and 5 lights, the latter with a hood mould; the lower floor is partly below ground level on this side. Several later openings have been added for agricultural use. Inside the single-storey wing, two posts with braces tied to a tie-beam support a roof truss with struts to the purlins, with principal and common rafters of similar proportions.
