This is a milepost located opposite No. 268A on Wakefield Road in Denby Dale. It dates from the late 19th century and features a cast iron triangular front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The inscription on the milepost indicates the distance to Skelmanthorpe and Denby Dale, stating "10 MILES ½ MILE".
