Description

This milepost, located at the junction with Park Road in Clayton West, dates from the late 19th century. It features a cast iron triangular front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The inscriptions on the milepost indicate distances to Wakefield and Denby Dale, stating "WAKEFIELD & DENBY DALE ROAD CLAYTON WEST DENBY WAKEFIELD DALE 8 MILES 2½ MILES."
