Description
This is a milepost located 200 yards south of the junction with Litherop Lane in Clayton West. It dates from the late 19th century and features a cast iron triangular front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The inscriptions on the milepost indicate distances to Wakefield and Denby Dale, stating "WAKEFIELD 7 MILES" and "DENBY DALE 3½ MILES."
